Proposed Sets

Set 1 : Ten Animals I Slam in a Net
Ability: Sap Sipper
Nature: Naive
Item: Lucky Egg
IV spread: 31/31/31/31/20-23/31
Hidden Power: Not Relevant (Fire)
Egg Moves:
-Wish
-Future Sight
-Magic Coat
-Mean Look/Mirror Coat/Skill Swap

I love Girafarig, have for a long, long time now. I think the first three are pretty cut and dried. The last one though, seems to be a point of contention, at least with me. I like Mean Look better, as it's one of the few Pokemon that can Baton Pass Mean Look, a very underrated strategy. Mirror Coat counts on Girafarig taking damage, not very useful at all in my opinion. Also suggested is Skill Swap, that sounds like a good idea if no one wants Mean Look.

Hidden Power Fire could be talked about, but IDK, that's awfully low power, especially with this thing's giant movepool that will get bigger with tutors. That's why I'm leaving it for discussion.

Done.

I personally would go for Skill Swap as one of the egg moves. In doubles, it can be holding a Scarf paired with Quagsire or Swampert and pass on Sap Sipper.

It might probably be a tutor move but since we're assuming it is not, I would suggest removing Wish or Future Sight.

I suggest Skill Swap as the last egg move. I want to try Skill Swapping Sap Sipper (say that 10 times fast) to a Mega Swampert Very Happy

I would quite like Skill Swap and Mean Look tbh. No one uses Future Sight do they? I'd include them both over that. Girafarig's only uses are gimmicky anyway so you may as well play to its strengths.

A waste of a good design imo Sad

I actually quite like Future Sight. I wouldn't mind swapping Magic Coat for Mean Look though, both are pretty equal to me.

Magic Coat is a very useful move, I'd drop Future Sight first. I really like Wish on it, though, Mean Look seems the most situational.

Let me know if you want to use my shiny Girafarig from my list as a parent. I do need it back though. It has HP Fighting but your gonna have to breed a male from it first to lose the Moon Ball as its illegal.

Future Sight, Magic Coat, Skill Swap, Wish

Has those EMs which I believe are what we all wanted?

Maybe Mean Look over Future Sight, but yeah, that's what it is. I'm around now if you want to trade.

Is there any push back on the egg moves? I'm torn over Mean Look, Wish, and Future Sight. I'll put it to a poll.

Thinking about it, these are actually the sort of situations I think you should go with the non-move tutor moves, because we're talking about situational moves on a never used pokemon. My gran will have ORAS before this thing is used, so we may as well just go with what gives it the most options further down the line. Razz

Therefore my vote is:

-Wish
-Future Sight
-Mean Look
-Mirror Coat

Yeah, but we can't assume move tutor moves though. Such is the project. Once the new tiers get settled we will go over the project and see if anything really needs tutor moves and distribute them. But we have to not consider ORAS with not every person having it.

Yeah, I know. Razz Well, I voted for Mean Look and Wish. But they're all decent options.

Alright, I'm itching to use this killer new ORAS breeding route. Right now the moves are Magic Coat, Skill Swap, Wish, and Mean Look.
