Tyrogue

http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/236.shtml

This one gets confusing, as all the hitmons share egg moves but not level-up moves, making different ones useful.

Proposed Sets

Set 1: Hitmonchan
Ability: Steadfast --> Iron Fist
Nature: Adamant
Item: Assault Vest
IV spread: 31/31/31/x/31/31
Hidden Power: Not Relevant
Egg Moves:
-Fake Out
-Foresight
-High Jump Kick
-Rapid Spin

AssVest/ Drain Punch sets are all the rage with this guy, building on his natural special bulk + Iron Fist. Rapid Spin is a nice addition to this, as a support move that can still be used with the vest. The rest of the EMs are unlikely to be used but seemed like the best options.

Set 2: Hitmonlee
Ability: Vital Spirit --> Unburden
Nature: Adamant
Item: Normal Gem
IV spread: 31/31/31/x/31/31
Hidden Power: Not Relevant
Egg Moves:
-Fake Out
-Foresight
-Mach Punch
-Rapid Spin

Going with Unburden. EMs are pretty cut and dry.

Set 3: Hitmontop
Ability: Guts --> Intimidate
Nature: Impish
Item: Leftovers
IV spread: 31/31/31/x/31/31
Hidden Power: Not Relevant
Egg Moves:
-Fake Out
-Foresight
-Mach Punch
-High Jump Kick

My favourite Hitmon! These are all common moves that you might want to run. Foresight can be used on 'top so he can spin against ghosts, and the rest is self-explanatory.

Each one should clearly get 4 sets each, all requiring 6IV and different hidden powers, as well as different egg moves... yeah Very Happy

Also, is it possible to get all of these on a single pokemon? When breeding Volbeat, I realized that it was only possible to get the 4 egg moves I wanted if I used a genned Volbeat, since the only time the moves could be on a Volbeat at the same time was in Generation 3. Just checking, since it could be a headache.

1. I like unburden, reckless is definitely a nuke though.

2. Hitmontop wants intimidate, especially for a defensive set.

3. At least top and Lee need fake out, especially for unburden and normal gem.

1) I'm fine with both, though lean toward Reckless
2) I'm fine with both again, but Intimidate is a must
3) YES!!!

2) Both (but if indeed only one set, Intimidate > Technician)
3) Yes

1. Are you trying to kill me? x_x
2. I think so. Some of its egg moves can only be gotten from its various evolutions though (without chain-breeding)... I'm gonna be evolving a lot of Tyrogues.

Also I didn't realise Normal Gem was obtainable in gen 6. Apparently it's the only one that is Neutral I will attach that to Lee then!

Okay, so I just realized... no. Fake Out and Foresight CAN'T be made relearnable because of the all-male thing. Both parents have to know the move right? And obviously the only way to get Tyrogue is Hitmon + Ditto...

I will update the OP accordingly.

Unburden for Lee so we have all 3 abilities.

Also good to know someone who knows the importance of all of them getting different EMs chose this Very Happy

Bummer Hitmontop cant keep Fake Out as an EM Sad its amazing in Doubles and if you delete it its gone forever.

Yeah, that's right. We just have to make sure we don't forget those moves when we level up.

Well, I could still teach them all Fake Out anyway so no one forgets. With 4 EMs on each the only way they can learn it is via heart scale as Tyrogue. So this way they already have Fake Out already and can still relearn the egg moves. It also saves everyone having to use heart scales as you'll likely want it on Lee/ Top anyway. The same could be done with Foresight for Top. I know generally we like mons to be untouched, but the way I see it this doesn't do anything irreversible and will benefit anyone who actually plans to use them.

They'll still be able to forget it sadly but I say Chan and Top would like to come with Fake Out already learned so someone doesnt forget to even get it on there before evolving in the first place Surprised

So I made a discovery with zoid's tyrogue x_x It seems the babies DO inherit Fake Out/ Foresight as relearnable moves after all. So we can revert to plan A. They will all have Fake Out as a relearnable move (not that Chan needs it but I guess it beats Mind Reader) and Top will have Foresight...

As for sets, I guess I'll do the Intimidate Top and Unburden Lee then. If anyone wants to do the other sets it should be pretty easy and I don't want to get in trouble for doing 5 sets Razz Will start on this tomorrow. What are your preferences on

Hitmontop: Bullet Punch vs. HJK?
Hitmonlee: Bullet Punch vs. Pursuit?

They may get them at Lv 1 but evolve them first and use a HS. They might not be relearnable though double check anyways.

I think Bullet Punch for both probably.

Actually, maybe HJK for top, that sounds like a way to hit hard without sacrificing defenses with CC.

Ok, that is pretty cool that you figured this out.

Do we need Rapid Spin on Hitmonlee? I don't know that we'll ever use it on him, but I don't battle THAT much, so I'm not sure.

Maybe we can do Pursuit like you originally thought.

Oh thats cool, though I dont think Chan needs Fake Out. Foresight is worth keeping though. Is it possible to swap that out for Pursuit?

Rapid Spin is slashed on a bunch of the smogon sets, which is why I included it over Bullet Punch or Pursuit.

Level-up move. Your only other options here are Endure, Mind Reader and Helping Hand. None of which seem any more useful than Fake Out really.

Also I won't lie, the current sets are fairly simple to do, so unless anyone has strong objections I'd like to keep them as final. Razz

Ok sure, they look good. It's just nitpicking at this point. Go ahead when you're ready Karp, they're good.
